Two persons were abducted in separate incidents in North Darfur on Thursday and Friday.

Members of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces took trader Abdeljabar Abdallah from his home in Karkaria camp in Saraf Umra, North Darfur, and took him to an unknown place on Friday.

Sheikh Abdelrazeg Yousif, a leader in the camp, told Radio Dabanga that the militiamen drove two cars mounted with machineguns, while others rode motorcycles, when they enterered Karkaria in the afternoon.

Abdeljabar was beaten and put in one of the cars. Subsequently the men took a number of his goods and his money. They also stole Abdallah's car and several motorcycles he owned.

Gunmen west of El Fasher, the state capital, abducted doctor-assistant Hassan Abdallah Ishag from the health centre on Thursday.

A witness said that armed men entered the centre in Gubur Elranam after they arrived in a Land Cruiser, and three others on motorcycles. Ishag and a colleague were immediately taken and put in the car.

The colleague was released before they abductors fled into an unknown destination with Ishag.
