Three dead, 11 injured as South Darfur lorry ambushed

Three people were shot dead and 11 others wounded when a lorry was ambushed on the Gireida-Jughana road in South Darfur on Sunday. A relative of one of the deceased told Radio Dabanga that on Sunday evening “government-backed militiamen” on camels and horses opened fire on a passengers’ lorry en route from Jughana to Gireida. Three passengers died instantly, and 11 others, among them five women, were injured. They were transferred to Gireida hospital for treatment.
