The Qadiriya Sufi Order in Khartoum has strongly denounced the recent air raid on a number of their members in the Tageli mountains, South Kordofan.

For more than 80 years, members of the Qadiriya have visited the tomb of El Sheikh Abdelbagi in the Tageli mountains. As they were returning from their visit this year, they were targeted by the Sudanese Air Force.

According to a statement by the Order on Friday, the bombing signifies “an attack on the entire Qadiriya. As the members of the Qadiriya never yielded to the temptation of money and positions, the authorities consider them as their enemies. Therefore, they are subject to dismissal, exile, and murder”.

It called upon “all Sudanese people to line up and resist the injustice, until security prevails throughout our beloved country”.
