‘Sudanese Government has rejected political solution in Darfur’: Communist Party

The Sudanese Communist Party (SCP) has stated that the Government of Sudan has rejected a national political solution for the crisis in Darfur, and resorted instead to military and security solutions in order to eliminate the Darfur armed rebel movements and the displaced population in the camps. In a statement issued on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the Independence of Sudan, the SCP explained that the “Khartoum regime” imposed the State of Emergency in Darfur for more than 20 years. During this period it has divided the region into five states “by politicisation of the native administration and an ethnic and political imposition of a policy of favouritism for the benefit of the NCP only”.
