The authority said in a statement yesterday that the standards and technical specifications of mobile phones in the country coincide with the internationally recommended standards and are set within the safe range in terms of electromagnetic radiation, making it technically impossible for such a phenomenon to occur. A wave of terror had prevailed in large parts of the Sudan as a result of this rumour which made many of the citizens reluctant to receive phone calls.
