Sudan: Processions to mourn protestors slain in Khartoum, Omdurman

Large crowds gathered in Khartoum and Omdurman on Monday and Tuesday to mourn to mourn two young men (17 and 18) who were shot dead by Sudanese security forces during mass anti-coup protests over the last two days.

Large crowds gathered in Khartoum and Omdurman on Monday and Tuesday to mourn to mourn two young men (17 and 18) who were shot dead by Sudanese security forces during mass anti-coup protests over the last two days.

Munther Abdelrahim (18) died after he received bullet wounds to his shoulder and chest while participating in a march in Omdurman that converged on the parliament. He was buried in in Ahmed Sharafi cemetery in Omdurman on Monday evening.

Muhammad Ibrahim El Nakhli (17) was shot in the neck and chest on Monday evening. He was buried on Tuesday.

The resistance committees in Omdurman marched in a mourning procession to the home of the family of Munther Abdelrahim on Tuesday. The cortege moved from Shaqlaban, through El Nass Street, to the home of the martyr.
