Sudan PM replaces university rectors

On Thursday, Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok issued a decree exempting 28 heads of state university boards, dismissing 35 university rectors and four deputies, and appointing new directors.
The PM also appointed 34 new university presidents. Former civilian candidate for the country’s Sovereign Council, Fadwa Abdelrahman will take over the management of the University of Khartoum, Hasan Faroug was appointed director of the Omdurman Islamic University, and Awad Saad will be the new rector of the Sudan University of Science and Technology.
