A Sudanese hacker group, reportedly pro-Russian, has claimed responsibility for cyberattacks on Kenyan government websites over the last week, that targeted government agencies, media, hospitals, and banks.

Anonymous Sudan, a pro-Russian hacking group, has claimed responsibility for a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack that intermittently cut off the websites of Kenyan media, hospitals, universities, and companies.

On Thursday, the Kenyan Foreign Ministry published a press circular to all diplomatic missions and international organisations, saying that the issuance of electronic visas is facing some challenges related to the government website, and that it will temporarily issue visas as soon as travellers enter the country.

A number of Kenyan websites belonging to government agencies, media, hospitals and banks have been under DDos hacking attacks since Sunday.
