Sudan army helicopter crashes in Nyala

An helicopter of the armed forces crashed Tuesday in Nyala. The helicopter belonged to the 16th Infantry Division based in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur. Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that the aircraft lost its stability after a mechanical failure. Debris from the crash reportedly caused injury to one city resident near the southern market. Army spokesman Al-Soarmi Khaled said that the crash was not caused by any act of aggression, and added that the pilot was the only person on board and he survived.
