Says Iranian-made missiles are being used for such offensives
The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) accused government troops on Wednesday of bombing cities of Kauda, Baram and neighboring villages in South Kordofan.
Arno Nuguthulu, spokesperson of the SPLM-N, said in a statement that government troops were using Iranian-made comet missiles based in Kadugli for bombing. “The bombing killed and inured many civilians in their homes and stirred panic among the population. The National Congress Party’s (NCP’s) use of lethal weapons by all military means suggests their willingness to commit genocide,” Nuguthulu said.
Radio Dabanga could not contact the army for comment on this matter.
‘Break silence’
On the other hand, Nuguthulu asked the international community to break its long silence regarding the crimes committed by president Omar al-Bashir and South Kordofan governor Ahmed Haroun. The two are wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague for committing war crimes in Darfur.
Nuguthulu also made a request to the international community to add pressure to the Sudanese government to open corridors for humanitarian assistance and stop aerial attacks on civilian populations.
