South Darfuri firewood collector ‘murdered by militiamen’

Armed militiamen have allegedly killed a 55-year-old displaced man from Dumma camp in South Darfur on Sunday evening. The spokesman for the association of displaced and refugees of Darfur, Hussein Abu Sharati, told Radio Dabanga that Ahmed Abdul Majeed El Tahir was returning with his cart from collecting firewood near the Dumma camp. Abu Sharati called on Unamid to provide protection for displaced people. Also in South Darfur, three displaced secondary school students were seriously injured on Monday when “members of the Sudan Armed Forces” fired into the air during a wedding celebration at Toum Kittir camp in Marshang locality.One of the sheikhs of the camp told to Radio Dabanga that the students, Omar Ismail, Mubarak Abdalshafi and Abdul Karim Abdullah, who attend Marshang High Secondary School, have been transferred to Marshang hospital for treatment.
