South Darfur student killed for mobile phone
On Sunday, a secondary school student was murdered, and a woman injured by elements of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces near the Otash camp for the displaced in South Darfur. On the same day, a resident of the Zamzam camp in North Darfur was shot dead. “Rapid Support militiamen intercepted Abdel Majid Abakar Abdallah, when he was on his way home at the camp, returning from school”, a sheikh of the Otash camp in Nyala locality told Radio Dabanga. “The gunmen demanded his mobile phone. When he refused to give it, they shot him dead on the spot. Khadija Yagoub, who was passing by, was hit by a bullet in her head. She was transferred, in critical condition, to a hospital in Nyala.” Donkey cartIn El Fasher locality, a displaced of the Zamzam camp was shot dead by gunmen on Sunday, a relative of the victim told Radio Dabanga. “Government-backed militiamen opened fire on Ayman Ibrahim when he was collecting firewood in the area of Baldo, west of Tabit. He died instantly.
