A civilian has been shot dead during an armed robbery by militiamen in Tur in Kass locality, South Darfur.

A civilian has been shot dead during an armed robbery by militiamen in Tur in Kass locality, South Darfur.

A relative of the deceased told Radio Dabanga that three armed men riding motorcycles opened fire on the home of Ahmed Mohamed Nur at 8 pm on Monday.

Nur was hit by several bullets and died on the spot. The murderers then made-off with whatever they could carry.

Farmers assaulted

Three farmers were severely injured near Gireida in South Darfur, after being beaten and whipped by armed herdsmen.

A witness told radio Dabanga that Abdallah Saleh, Mohamed Mousa, and Yahya Daoud were working on their farm at Um Ashal, west of Gireida. They were accosted by a group of militiamen riding camels, who beat them with rifle butts and whips.

“They took everything off value the farmers had and even stripped them of all their clothing, leaving them naked and bleeding,” the source said.

The farmers were transferred to Gireida Hospital.
