Soldier injured in North Darfur army-militia clash

A soldier was wounded in a fight between army troops and militia members at the crops market in Kabkabiya, North Darfur, on Tuesday.
Speaking to Dabanga from Kabkabiya, a trader reported that army soldiers and militiamen clashed at the market at 10 am, sparked by a disagreement about fees the militiamen continue to impose on the traders at the market.

A soldier was wounded in a fight between army troops and militia members at the crops market in Kabkabiya, North Darfur, on Tuesday.

Speaking to Dabanga from Kabkabiya, a trader reported that army soldiers and militiamen clashed at the market at 10 am, sparked by a disagreement about fees the militiamen continue to impose on the traders at the market.   

“A soldier named Mohamed Sami Ibrahim was wounded. All shops and stalls were closed, and the people fled to their homes.”

The source said that the market was opened again after afternoon prayers.
