The breakaway faction, headed by Mohamedein Ismail Bashar, nicknamed Orgajur, signed a peace accord with the Sudanese government on 27 April 2015, in Ndjamena, capital of Chad.

The 500 fully armed ex-combatants were welcomed by North Darfuri officers of the National intelligence and Security Service (NISS).

During the welcoming ceremony, the Darfur Regional Authority (DRA) Minister of Reconstruction expressed DRA’s willingness to allocate some of its positions and posts to members of the new faction, “in support of peace in Darfur”.

He called on the Sudanese government to accelerate the implementation of the agreement with the faction.
