Djabal Camp for Sudanese refugees in eastern Chad has experienced an increase in the incidence of skin diseases among children.

Djabal Camp for Sudanese refugees in eastern Chad has experienced an increase in the incidence of skin diseases among children. The conditions are characterized by serious itchiness on the skin. Dr. Benjamin, who heads the health centre in the camp, said that the reason for the emergence of this disease is that children have been playing in stagnant pools of water and ponds. The doctor called on the refugees to prevent children from playing in the stagnant water. He told them to bring children quickly to the health centre if they display any symptoms. He was speaking over Radio Dabanga from the camp.
