A group of gunmen on Sunday night set fire to dozens of shops and looted in Hamidiya camp in Zalingei. Sources told Radio Dabanga  from Zalingei that the group infiltrated the market in the camp by night and started looting and burning shops. The sources added that the forces of Minni Minawi (SLA-MM) were present and were able to arrest two people believed to be involved with the attack: Adam Yasin Adam Issa, the nephew of the group’s leader Al Mukashfi, and Abakr Mohamed Ahmed, who works as a guard at a pharmacy in Zalingei.

After the movement’s forces apprehended the two men, the movement was approached by the intelligence service at their base in Zalingei. The intelligence asked for the release of the men, claiming they belong to the border intelligence, but SLA-MM refused, instead handing over the men to the police for investigation and to uncover the circumstances of the incident. One of the eyewitnesss told this to Radio Dabanga.
