Sheikh dies in West Darfur camp fire

A huge fire that broke out in the Kendebe camp for the displaced in West Darfur on Monday, has led to the death of one man, and the destruction of 33 homes.
“Sheikh Ali Nasr Abdallah burned to death inside his shelter,” a Kendebe camp elder reported to Dabanga. “33 homes were destroyed.”

He appealed to the West Darfur state authorities and relief organisations to provide urgent aid to “the affected families, who lost all their belongings, and are now living in the open”.
