Seventh man dies following Kabakabiya protests

A seventh man has died after he was shot during the protests in Kabkabiya earlier this week. Hussein Ahmed Hassan died in Madina hospital after being shot by UN/African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) forces. ‘UNAMID staff took him into the compound’s hospital. He was operated on twice but died from his wounds on Thursday night,’ said a relative of Hassan to Radio Dabanga. This brings the total deaths to seven, with 19 displaced people said to be injured, including a nine year old child. 11 are said to be in a serious condition in Kabkabiya hospital, but the families want to take them to El Fasher where the facilities are better, added the relative.
