Security arrest 15 in Darfur village after jail break

Security authorities in Seleia Locality in western Darfur arrested 15 people from the village of Manjora. A relative of one of the detainees said that the security forces raided the village on Tuesday and proceeded to beat the citizens and loot their property.

Security authorities in Seleia Locality in western Darfur arrested 15 people from the village of Manjora. A relative of one of the detainees said that the security forces raided the village on Tuesday and proceeded to beat the citizens and loot their property. The witness said the security authorities gathered together the people of the village in one place and threatened them with physical extermination unless they hand over two men whom the authorities said escaped from the prison in Seleia. The two are Sadig Yahia Adam and Saddam Abdullah Bush. Radio Dabanga broadcast the names of the 15 people arrested in the village. A source in Manjora said the men are now locked in a small detention facility and are not allowed to receive visits or food.
