SAF bombings in East Jebel Marra kill 2

A woman and her child died on Saturday October 6 in Hillat Argo, East Jebel Marra in North Darfur, after the Sudanese Air Forces (SAF) bombed the region.Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that SAF continued its bombardments in the area of East Jebel Marra, including the villages of Turdi, Goz Douro and Hillat Argo. The witnesses added that the shelling lasted throughout the day. The bombings resulted in the killing of Minni Yagoub and her son El-Sadiq Mohamedain in Hillat Argo.They appealed to government authorities to stop targeting civilians in East Jebel Marra and called upon the UN and humanitarian organizations to intervene and protect the civilians. Clashes between SLJM and Sudanese armySudan Liberation Movement for Justice (SLJM), led by Karbino, announced that the movement tackled an attack by government forces and its militias on Saturday October 6, in East Jebel Marra. The movement’s military spokesman, Mubarak Mohamed Ahmed, disclosed to Radio Dabanga that the government forces and its militias consisted of a convoy of 13 Land Cruiser vehicles, loaded with different types of arms.The movement ambushed the convoy north of Tabit, East Jebel Marra. Mubarak stressed they were able to defeat the government forces and seize two of its Land Cruiser vehicles carrying arms. SLMJ troops killed 15 Sudanese army soldiers, Mubarak added to Radio Dabanga from the field.
