S. Darfur governor quells Ed Daein protests with promises, force

Abdul Hamid Musa Kasha, the governor of South Darfur, directed the authorities in Ed Daien town to suppress protestors though the emergency law.

Abdul Hamid Musa Kasha, the governor of South Darfur, directed the authorities in Ed Daien town to suppress protestors though the emergency law. Kasha, however, also pledged during a meeting with the political leaders and civil administrators to provide 10 fire trucks worth 7 million pounds.

The town had been witnessing daily residential fires for the past days at the rate of 3-6 fires per day. The residents of the city had gone out for demonstrations in the past two days complaining of the continuous fires and the break-down of the fire truck.
