Road robbery, arrests in South Darfur

Three passengers were wounded in an armed robbery on a truck in Gireida locality, South Darfur, on Wednesday evening. Two persons went missing. In East Darfur, three persons burned to death inside their house.

A witness told Radio Dabanga that six bandits, riding on horses and camels, opened fire on a Land Rover that was on its way from Abu Jula market to Joghana in Gireida, at about 7pm. The gunfire seriously injured owner Aboud Ali, driver Eisa El Haj and merchant Mohamed Harran.

They have been taken to a hospital for treatment, Mohamad Ali and Mustafa Ali have gone missing since the incident, the witness reported. The bandits robbed the money and property of the passengers, and the luggage and goods on board the vehicle.

Three burn to death in East Darfur

Two women and a girl from the same family died in a fire in Ed Daein, East Darfur State, on Wednesday. A witness said that the victims were fast asleep when a fire broke out in a cottage and other parts of the family's house.

Murder suspects caught

The government officials in Nyala city of South Darfur State have announced that the security authorities managed to arrest three of the suspects who are accused of murdering a young man named Haroun last Tuesday. Haroun had tried to rescue a girl from the grip of the three men, reportedly Rapid Support Forces.

In a separate incident on Tuesday night, security services clashed with three armed militia members who had stolen a vehicle from El Cinema district in Nyala city, and forced the offenders to surrender without the occurrence of any casualties.
