Released Sudanese journalist was tortured

Journalist Mohamed Ali Mahamado who was released by the security forces on Thursday, said that he has been physically and mentally tortured. Mahamado told Radio Dabanga on Sunday morning that the security forces who detained him in the security office in Khartoum North on 25 September, refused to provide him with special food and medicines for his ulcer. He was beaten en put in solitary confinement for the duration of his detention. The journalist explained that the security forces accused him of participating in the September demonstrations and in other “rebellious events”.“The security also desperately tried to use its racist methods of torture, but I was aware of these issues. I have been fighting them all the time.” He added that he is still committed to stand by all the detainees in solidarity with the Sudanese people.
