People of Kalma camp urge LJM not to sign Doha Agreement

Dr. Tijani Sese, President of the Liberation Movement and Justice (LJM), is called on not to sign the Doha Peace Agreement, due next Thursday, 14 July. The people of Kalma camp for displaced persons made this request, warning Dr. Sese, that he would bear full responsibility of this historical error. They reminded him of the Abuja Agreement in 2006, and the experience of Minni Minawi after they signed it. The Kalma people stressed that the agreement would not represent all the people concerned.

Sheikh of Kalma camp told Radio Dabanga that before any agreement is signed, militias need to be disarmed, and that a trial for war crimes committed in Darfur should be set up. He also calls for proper compensation to the people who were forced to flee their homes, and currently live in displacement camps, or in exile.
