Only one doctor for 50,000+ in Central Darfur’s Mukjar

Residents of Mukjar in Central Darfur complain about a shortage of doctors and medicines.

A listener told Radio Dabanga that the about 36,000 displaced of Mukjar camp and thousands of people living in surrounding villages have to rely on one doctor working in the hospital of Mukjar hospital.

“Most of the time the doctor is not even present. Apart from a severe lack of medicines, the health environment is rapidly deteriorating too.”

A listener told Radio Dabanga that the about 36,000 displaced of Mukjar camp and thousands of people living in surrounding villages have to rely on one doctor working in the hospital of Mukjar.

“Most of the time the doctor is not even present. Apart from a severe lack of medicines, the health environment is deteriorating rapidly too.”

He demanded via Dabanga from the authorities to expedite the appointment of more doctors, nurses, and medicines, and improve the sanitation in Mukjar hospital.
