A man was stabbed to death, and several people were injured in separate robberies by militiamen in West Darfur.

The coordinator of Murnei camp for the displaced told Radio Dabanga that on Thursday, militiamen entered the home of Abdelatif Abdallah at about 10 pm to rob him.

Abdallah was stabbed several times when he resisted. The coordinator said neighbours tried to rescue Abdallah and rushed him to hospital, but he died of his wound on the way.

In a separate incident, a number of displaced people of Tullus, Shamra, and Turr, southwest of Murnei were attacked and injured by a group of militiamen. The coordinator told Radio Dabanga that a group of militiamen riding camels and horses attacked the people while they were sleeping on Wednesday. The first opened fire into the air before beating and whipping them.

Eight people were injured. One, who was shot, was transferred to Murnei hospital. The coordinator added that the robbers made-off with the people’s money, luggage and food.
