North Darfur village market swept away by floods

Floods and torrents at El Wakhaim village of Um Baru locality in North Darfur have destroyed 150 houses, 50 shops, and caused the death of 1,000 livestock.

One of the victims told Radio Dabanga that the floods swept-away the entire village market and the only water tank in the area, leaving dozens of families in the open.

He said the losses have been estimated at millions of Pounds including property, goods and livestock.

Sennar

Floods have swept Wad Habawiya village and the surroundings of west of El Dindir rural areas in Sennar state.

The commissioner of El Dindir locality has called on the residents to take caution and stay away from areas of danger and vulnerability near the flood of El Dindir River.
