North Darfur man murdered, robbed of payment for house

A Kabkabiya man was stalked and brutally murdered on Wednesday before being robbed of the proceeds of the sale of his house, allegedly by pro-government militiamen in North Darfur. Adam Mohamed, nicknamed ‘Abbaly’ sold his house on Wednesday afternoon and was paid in cash. The amount was not specified. A witness told Radio Dabanga that after he received payment, Abbaly realised he was being followed by six “militiamen”. “He fled on foot and took refuge among the teachers at Gurrat El Zawia school, however the gunmen tracked him down,” the witness said. “They dragged him from among the horrified teachers and shot him dead in front of them before taking the money from his body and fleeing,” the source reported.
