North Darfur capital short of fuel

The city of El Fasher, capital of North Darfur, is experiencing an acute shortage of fuel.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga from El Fasher, the owner of a filling station reported that the price of a gallon of petrol at the black market reached SDG35 ($5.70).
He attributed the fuel crisis to the delay of the petrol tankers coming from West Kordofan. “The tankers were delayed in En Nahud for more than two weeks as they had to wait for the guards that would accompany the convoy.”
The source added that each bus, lorry, or tanker has to pay SDG1,000 ($162) for joining a guarded convoy from En Nahud to El Fasher.
