National forum held for organizations in Darfur

The first national forum for development organizations in North Darfur concluded on Wednesday. The head of the network of national organizations in North Darfur, Ahmed Sadiq Mohammed Yusuf told Radio Dabanga that 456 organizations spanning six networks and a number of international experts and organizations attended the event. The forum recommended forming a partnership between national and international organizations in all existing organizations in villages and rural areas. Yusuf said this will enable information sharing and benefiting from different types of specialization as well as avoiding repetition in project planning. It will allow an opportunity for organizations at different levels to contribute towards the peace process in Darfur. He also said national organizations need the backing of international bodies in 2012 to deliver humanitarian support to the displaced camps as the region becomes divided into new states, and the fate of the internally displaced person camps is unknown.
