Militias open fire on vehicle of S. Darfur administrative officer

A vehicle carrying the administrative officer of Mershing locality, South Darfur, along with his driver and bodyguard was attacked by pro-government militias who opened fire on it at the Bulbul Abu Jazo Bridge at the Al-Gardud- Kass road on Saturday. The driver and bodyguards were seriously injured and were transferred to the Nyala Teaching hospital, witnesses told Radio Dabanga. They added that the officer Mahjoub Yusuf Mohamed was not injured. The gunmen, driving Land Cruisers, looted the belongings of all passengers and escaped with the victims’ vehicle to an unknown destination, sources recounted.Radio Dabanga file photo
