Militiamen rob market traders in Birkat Seira, North Darfur

A group of militiamen looted and destroyed a number of shops at the Birkat Seira market in Saraf Omra locality, North Darfur on Thursday. One of the robbed traders told Radio Dabanga that a group of government-backed militiamen raided the market of Birkat Seira at about 10pm in the evening of Thursday and attacked a number of shops. “The money and stolen goods are worth thousands of pounds.” He noted that the other traders who were affected are Abdallah Suleiman Abdelrahman, who is also a basic school teacher, Shidouka Adam Haroun, Haidar Abakar Yusif, Abakar Ahmaday Abdallah Izzeldin Adam, and Abulgasim Ali Janga.
