Militiamen rape, kidnap displaced near Nyala, South Darfur

Pro-government militiamen raped four young women in the area of Hijer, southeast of Nyala, South Darfur, and kidnapped them together with two men. Newly displaced people from Hijer and Um Gunja and neighbouring villages told the general coordinator of Kalma camp that elements of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) assaulted and looted their villages. “The RSF then raped four women, one of them a minor, in front of the villagers”, Yakoub Mohamed Abdallah told Radio Dabanga. “After the rape, they kidnapped the girls, together with El Tayeb Mohamed Yahya (28 years old) and Abda Adam Boy (26).” The camp coordinator further said that other displaced families from the area, which have arrived at Kalma camp, also witnessed abductions by the RSF. “They kidnapped more than 20 men, and young girls and boys. Their families fear that the victims will be enslaved into prostitution or are forced to do hard work.” According to Yagoub Abdallah, among the kidnapped are: Asila Daoud Tuba (35) and her two children (2 and 3,5), Marwa Suleiman Adam (2), Daoud Adam Abdel Rahman (13), Mohamed Osman Abakr (15), Huda Suleiman (16), Mohamed Maki Eisa Mousa (18), Mohamed Ahmed Suleiman (25), Adam Mohamed Ahmed Yahya (27), Mohamed Hamed Ahmed Adam (28), Hussein Mousa Mohamed (37), Hassan Ahmed Zakaria, Juma Adam Yousif, Ali Ibrahim Yahya, Mohamed Kheirallah Yakoun, Yagoub Saleh Idris Adam, Zakaria Mohamed Hassan, Gedo Hamed Ahmed, Yahya Khater Adam Ishag, Rasoul Abdallah Abdel Nabi, Eisa Ibrahim Saleh, Ibrahim Adam, and Yagoub Mohamed Abdallah.
