Militiamen kill security officer in El Fasher, North Darfur

A member of the Central Reserve Forces in the capital of North Darfur state dies at the hands of militiamen, who also manage to injure one of his colleagues.

Militiamen stabbed a Central Reserve Forces member to death northeast of El Fasher, North Darfur, on Wednesday. One of his colleagues was wounded in the same incident. One of the perpetrators was recognised by witnesses who found his mobile phone.

A relative of the deceased soldier, named Ismail Abdallah Adam Dardog, told Radio Dabanga that two pro-government militiamen attacked Dardog and his colleague Abdallah Eisa Shaibu in El Ghaba district in the state capital. The two were on their way home from the market.

“Dadog was stabbed and killed on the spot, while Shaibu was wounded,” the relative said. The wounded Central Reserve Forces member was transferred to a hospital in El Fasher.

A witness reported that they heard dense gunfire at the time of the incident in El Ghaba district in the state capital. He said that they found the mobile phone of one of the perpetrators at the scene of the incident, which led to his recognition.
