Four young students were shot dead in an attack led by militiamen in Burma, South Darfur on Thursday evening.

Four young students were shot dead in an attack led by militiamen in Burma, South Darfur on Thursday evening. A person who traced the perpetrators was also shot.

The five boys, aged between 13 and 18 years, were on their way to participate in a social event, a relative of one of the victims told Radio Dabanga.

The armed men opened fire on the group between Burma, west of Kass town, and Dogenj villages. Mousa Abdel Karim (13), Abdallah Salah Jabbour (15), Bahreldin Mohamed (17) and Hashim Ishag (18) were killed on the spot. The relative did not know the motive of the killers.

He said that the attack caused panic among the residents. Several locals traced the perpetrators into a neighbourhood, where the militiamen shot at them. One of their bullets seriously wounded Mohamed Eisa.
