Militiamen ambush convoy in Kabkabiya, North Darfur

One person has been injured and three more are missing following an attack on a convoy of four lorries en route from Tina to Kabkabiya, in North Darfur. One of the passengers told Radio Dabanga that “government-backed militiamen” ambushed their convoy in the area of Sorbei, 23km north-west of Kabkabiya on Friday morning, opening fire on the lorries. Passenger Amer Ismail Adam broke his hand and was transferred to Kabkabiya hospital for treatment. Three other passengers, Mohamed Hassan Mursal, Idris Zakaria Harei and Mohamed Abakar Haroun went missing. The witness reported that the militiamen captured two lorries, while the two other lorries managed to escape the ambush. The gunmen threatened the passengers and robbed them of all their belongings.
