Militia severely beat fuel dealer in Garsila

A trader was severely beaten by the government’s Abu Tira militia yesterday in Darfur. The attackers used sticks and boots to attack the man, Sharaf Al Din Abakr Ahmed, a fuel trader in Garsila Market, in his store in Garsila market. The victim has been taken to a hospital in the city.

When the merchant refused to give more fuel than he claimed they had paid for, he was immediately and brutally attacked.

The attackers were identified as members of ‘Abu Tira’, the local name for the Central Reserve Police, a Khartoum-based paramilitary unit.
