Maternal mortality down in North Darfur from 2006: health official

The number of deaths of mothers and newborn children in North Darfur has reached 346 death cases out of 100 thousand live births and about 63 deaths of children out of 100 thousand cases. On the occasion of the celebration of World’s Safe Motherhood Day, Hasanat El Nour, director of reproductive health, is expecting the results of maternal mortality rate which was conducted last year to be better than the results of the year 2006 survey.
