Masalit, Fellata peace talks to be held in South Darfur

Preparations are ongoing in Gireida, South Darfur, for a reconciliation conference between the warring Masalit and Fellata tribes.
The commissioner of Gireida locality, Mohamed Abdelrahman Gadem, told reporters on Monday that a delegation of native administration members, headed by Sultan Saad Bahareldin, held a lengthy meeting with leaders of the two warring tribes, and convinced them to participate in a reconciliation conference.

He stressed that the security situation in Gireida locality returned to normal after the clashes that broke out early February, displacing hundreds of families.
