A man was killed inside his home by stray bullets in Um Dukhun, Central Darfur, on Wednesday.
A neighbour of the deceased reported to Radio Dabanga that troops of the Central Reserve Forces (known as Abu Tira) suddenly began shooting into the air with machine guns, at about 8.30pm.
One of the bullets hit Adam Abakar, while he was at home in Nag’a, the western district of Um Dukhun.
The source added that the Abu Tira troops, stationed in Um Dukhun, continued randomly shooting “for hours”. The heavy fire terrified the population. “Particularly women and children hid under their beds, or in holes, until the morning, to avoid being hit.”
