Several imams of mosques in Khartoum and the states in Friday sermon condemned the killing of teacher Ahmed El Kheir under torture at the security cells in Khashm El Girba.

Dr Adam El Shein, Imam of El Rahma Mosque in El Haj Yousef, criticised in his sermon entitled “The killing of a teacher is the killing of a nation” by the security forces, which humiliated, and arrested teachers.

He also criticised the chief of police in Kassala state, who said that Ahmed El Kheir died of poisoning, and accused him of lying and perjury and considered it a reflection of the truth in a distorted the image by the police.

El Migdad El Hagan, Imam of El Manshiya mosque in eastern Khartoum, called on the director of the security apparatus to resign, considering that the political responsibility in the assassination of Ahmed El Kheir falls on his shoulders.

He described the officials who claimed that El Kheir died of food poisoning of lies and false testimony.

The imam of El Hijra Mosque in Wad Nubawi, condemned the assassination of teacher Ahmed El Kheir, describing what happened as a heinous crime, which is forbidden by Islam and contradicts the constitution and the international covenants.

He condemned the excessive violence used by the security forces in the face of peaceful demonstrations, the arrest and repression of peaceful demonstrators and the restriction of their freedoms as a clear violation of human dignity. He demanded their immediate release.
