JEM refuses to re-join Darfur peace talks

The Justice and Equality Movement said that it is not considering re-joining the Darfur peace talks taking place in Doha, Qatar. It denied that it is engaged in dialogue about the peace talks, from which it withdrew in May 2010. This denial follows a statement by Amin Hassan Omar, head of the government delegation to the Doha negotiations. Amin Hassan Omar had said on Friday that debate was taking place to get JEM Chairman Dr. Khalil Ibrahim to come to the Doha negotiations, after Qatar agreed to grant him a visa to travel there.
