JEM and LJM signed coordination agreement
The Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) and the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) confirmed yesterday that they signed an agreement to coordinate their positions for future negotiations in Doha.
JEM and LJM called upon the international and regional community to support the peace negotiations in Doha and urged to respect UN resolutions on Darfur and to implement resolutions made by Darfurian society organizations in Doha. Referring to the ICC they stated that all who committed crimes in Darfur should be punished.
The last few months have been turbulent times for Darfur, with many aerial attacks mainly on villages in east Jebel Marra. JEM and LJM condemned these attacks by the Sudaneze government calling it a strategy of war. Ahmed Hussein Adam, a senior leader of JEM called upon the international community to pressure the Sudanese government to stop these crimes against civilians in Darfur.
Abdulaziz, vice chair person of LJM, confirmed that the two parties agreed on a comprehensive peace agreement for Darfur and called upon all Darfurian movements to join them in the efforts for peace.
