Increase in HIV/AIDS cases in North Darfur

North Darfur’s Minister of Health, Abu Abbas Abdallah Tayeb has announced an increase of HIV/AIDS cases in 2013. The minister said that of the 3,000 people screened in the state, 51 are HIV-positive. He told reporters that the Ministry of Health “is developing a plan to combat the disease by increasing the voluntary screening centres, awareness raising and guidance.”
