Herders abduct, ‘beat’ sisters in North Darfur’s Tawila

Militant Abbala herders abducted two sisters near Tawila in North Darfur on Monday. They were found ‘severely beaten’.
The women’s father told Radio Dabanga that Abbala tribesmen ambushed the sisters and two other young women. They were collecting firewood and straw, together with their grandmother, in the area of Logli, west of Tawila.
The gunmen seized the two sisters and carried them off. The two other women managed to escape. They ran to Tawila, where they told their families about the incident.
The father said that he and his relatives went searching for the two sisters, and “found them in a very poor condition, with marks of beatings on their bodies”.
