A livestock owner was killed in an attack by militiamen near Kutum in North Darfur on Monday.

Armed men on camels and motorcycles attacked a group of herders in Molagad, 15 kilometres north of Kutum, at 4pm, a witness told Radio Dabanga.

During the attempt to steal their cattle they opened fire on the herders. Moussa Ibrahim Ahmed was killed on the spot, while Adam Mourain Abaker and Aisha Ibrahim were seriously injured.

The attackers stole 450 sheep and goats from the herders, the witness reported.
