Gunmen open fire at Kalma Camp

A humanitarian coordinator for the camp told Radio Dabanga Tuesday’s shootings had been carried out by gunmen on a vehicle labeled with the state number 1283 in block 4; on Wednesday morning, another vehicle seemingly affiliated with the state security services opened fire around nine o’clock. The witness furthermore pointed out that the incident had happened in front of the camp’s UNAMID headquarters. “Fortunately, no-one was hurt,” he told Radio Dabanga. The displaced people informed UNAMID of the incident and called attention to the fact that they should be protected against such violations.
