Gunmen attack herders, kill woman in South Darfur

On Tuesday, gunmen attacked a group of herders at Jebel Simba, northwest of Mershing, in South Darfur. A woman was shot dead.

A witness reported to Radio Dabanga that the gunmen, on horses and camels, opened fire on Kaltum Titi Mohamed when she tried to stop them from taking her cows. She was killed on the spot.

The attackers then stole dozens of cattle.

Abduction

Armed men abducted seven people who were on their way to fetch water south of Fanga in Jebel Marra on Friday 27 May.

A relative of one of the victims informed Radio Dabanga about the incident and the names of the seven kidnapped persons. He urged the authorities to intervene and save them.

The same day, members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), driving two Land Cruisers, stopped a commercial vehicle near Fanga that was on its way to El Fasher. The attackers seized the vehicle and fled with six passengers aboard.
