Governor West-Darfur appeals to government for emergency support

The West Darfur governor Abul Gasim appealed to the government and humanitarian organizations to provide emergency food support for the displaced from Jebel Marra. Abu Gasim revealed in an interview with Radio Dabanga the increasing number of displaced persons and said that that the state is not able to receive and help them. It requires intervention of the government intervention and humanitarian organizations to assist the newly displaced.The Sudan Liberation Movement of Abdel Wahid al Nur (SLM-AW) continued fighting in the area of Deribat in the eastern Jebel Marra. Al Sadiq Rokero, the humanitarian official of the movement, told Radio Dabanga that the air strikes continued until yesterday afternoon. He said that the humanitarian situation has worsened because of the inability of relief organizations to enter the area.
